The Manly Community Pre-School reopened today after a year of extensive renovations.

The refurbishment now means the pre-school can accommodate up to 60 students (40 previously) a day and will include exciting new features for children such as a water creek and sustainable gardening. It also includes disability access.

Mayor Regan said the focus of the renovations was on creating a modern, high quality environment, both inside and out, for children of all abilities to play and learn.

“I’m sure pre-schoolers will love coming to the centre every day and their carers, some of whom have been working there for 17 years, will be equally excited to look after them in this top class facility.

“Council is proud of its child care facilities and we are very happy they remain open during the COVID 19 emergency to support parents who go to work.”

The refurbishment includes the adjoining Community Centre which will re-open when government COVID 19 restrictions are lifted.

The Manly Community Pre-School centre is one of seven early learning centres Council operates for the local community. Its renovation follows the refurbishment of the Harbour View Children's Centre in Seaforth which was completed in late 2018.
