Pack your swimmers, grab the kids and check out what the Warringah Aquatic Centre (WAC) has to offer on Saturday 11 November when entry will be free from 12.30 - 6pm.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said the ‘Open Day’ was being hosted at the Frenchs Forest facility to celebrate the opening of the ‘Hit’ café after an extended period of works and to celebrate the reopening the Splash Pad for summer.

“The WAC is a wonderful facility for all ages and we’re giving the community a chance, free of charge, to see how its services can benefit their health, fitness and lifestyle.

“Water safety is integral to life on the beautiful Northern Beaches, so build your family’s swimming skills in a fun and safe environment,” Mayor Regan said.

The day features plenty of fun for kids such as floating hamster wheels in the outdoor pool, face painting and a giant inflatable course. Visitors can also enjoy a diving display by NSW State springboard divers or try aqua Zumba.

Staff will be on hand to answer questions about the range of services available including swimming lessons and exercise programs for all ages.

The WAC store will also be having a sale, offering a 25 per cent discount on all merchandise.

As well as an Olympic size indoor swimming pool, diving pool and café, the WAC also features a solar-heated outdoor 25 metre lap pool and splash pad with barbecues, picnic tables and a grassy area.
