Join us in celebrating International Women’s Day on the Northern Beaches in March.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality and this year’s theme is embrace equity.

Mayor Michael Regan said council was proud to be an inclusive workplace that champions equality in the community.

“As a Council we continue to celebrate the social, economic and political achievements of women in our community, by elevating the status of women and doing more to address and overcome many barriers and challenges,” Mayor Regan said.

“We are continuously looking for ways to promote quality childcare, provide more affordable housing in our community and tackling the big issues like homelessness and domestic and family violence.

“When we embrace equity, we embrace diversity, and we embrace inclusion. What is needed to create generational change is collective activism. This drives positive change from grassroots action to wide-scale momentum, we can all embrace equity this March as part of international Women’s Day.”
