The Northern Beaches community is being asked to provide input on the proposed renewals of the Long Reef and Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Clubs.

Council General Manager Environment & Infrastructure Ben Taylor said these are exciting projects that were priorities for the former Councils but were unable to be delivered in the past.

“Both Long Reef and Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Clubs are in spectacular locations but the buildings are quite old and really need a new lease of life

“The additional resources of the Northern Beaches Council has enabled us to prioritise these projects and our aim now is to seek agreement by all parties on the right way forward.

“As the first stage we are coming back to the community and inviting them to submit ideas which will be provided to the concept designers.

“This is a great chance for creative and imaginative members of the community to help shape these two important projects,” Mr Taylor said.

Council has organised drop in sessions for the community to meet the project team, provide feedback and ask questions:

  • Wed 7 June, 6-8pm, Civic Centre Dee Why (Long Reef)
  • Sun 18 June, 9-1130am, Long Reef SLSC (Long Reef)
  • Thurs 8 June, 6-8pm Mona Vale SLSC (Mona Vale)
  • Sat 17 June, 9-11am, Mona Vale SLSC (Mona Vale)

Council is also looking to form community working groups with a cross-section of community members and stakeholders to also help with designs for the new buildings. To register, visit the your say page of Council’s website.

Nominations for Long Reef close on 21 June and Mona Vale 25 June.
