Northern Beaches Council in conjunction with Roads and Maritime Services is holding a free workshop on Wednesday, 29 March to help people teaching 'Learners', to become better drivers.

Northern Beaches Council General Manager Mark Ferguson said Council is working with Roads and Maritime Service and the community to keep learner drivers and other motorists safe on the roads.

"Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers is a great initiative and I invite parents and supervisors to come along to the workshop to get some hands-on advice on how to provide the most effective driving practices for learner drivers.

"Those who take on the role of teaching 'Learners' play a crucial role in making our roads safe. This workshop provides you an opportunity to share your experience and learn from experts," Mr Ferguson said.

The workshop will include information on new laws for mobile phone use, how to use the Learner Driver Log Book and plan driving sessions.

Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers will be held at the Civic Centre, Dee Why on Wednesday, 29 March from 6.30- 8.30pm. Bookings are essential and can be made by calling 9942 2447 or emailing roadsafety@northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au.
