It is your chance to participate in Shape 2028 by registering to participate in one of the Northern Beaches Council Community Strategic Plan workshops in March and form the blue print for the new Council’s decision making and investment over the next 10 years.

Northern Beaches Council General Manager, Mark Ferguson said a lot can change in a decade. Shape 2028 workshops are the communities chance to make sure their issues and priorities are voiced and captured in the Community Strategic Plan.

“Those we hear from will shape the first elected Northern Beaches Council’s priorities, those who provide their views are essentially deciding what programs and initiatives your rates will pay for.

“The Community Strategic Plan impacts the whole area and everyone in it, so I encourage each and every one of you to make sure you don’t miss this opportunity to speak up,” Mr Ferguson said.

A large portion of Northern Beaches residents are time poor, with 45.4% of our working population being managers or professionals[1], with many raising families where both parents are working.

Northern Beaches Council is holding workshops in the evenings and on weekends to accommodate this demographic, and there is also the option to complete an online survey.

More than 1,000 community members provided input to the key themes for the Shape 2028 Workshops last year. These include the environment, community well-being, business, transport and community engagement.

“We know these key areas are important and hopefully reflect all of the community’s views however, this is your chance to ensure that your priorities are on the table. Any decisions made now will have an impact on residents now and in the future,” he said.
