Seniors living on the Northern Beaches are invited to ‘connect with the community’ during the first Northern Beaches Council Seniors Festival being held from the 3 to 24 March 2017.

Northern Beaches Council Administrator Mr Dick Persson AM said more than 50 community groups and organisations have worked with Council to deliver the most comprehensive Seniors Festival ever offered on the Northern Beaches.

“We are fortunate to have so many committed organisations that create an ‘Inclusive Community’ the theme of this year’s festival and I want to thank all the community groups and businesses who have contributed to this year’s program.

“Whether you are interested in travel, dancing or cooking, want to improve your physical fitness, engage with modern technology or learn new skills there is something for everyone, with events being held at various locations from Palm Beach to Manly,” Mr Persson said.

Northern Beaches Council is presenting a number of activities including workshops on travelling, coastal walks, aquatic exercise and fixing kids’ toys. Other highlights include cooking up a storm at the Men’s Kitchen, lectures and presentations, and even kayaking for the really adventurous.

Mr Persson is encouraging all residents to ‘connect with the community’ by inviting a friend or neighbour to a Seniors Festival event.

“The Northern Beaches is a beautiful place with lots of fun and rewarding things to do, so I invite you to join in and share the fun with others.”

The Northern Beaches Council Seniors Festival 2017 Program has more than 150 events and is available online or can be collected at Council’s Customer Service Centres and libraries.
