Northern Beaches Council is hosting three separate ‘Tree Giveaway’ events to encourage residents to plant native trees - and also to maintain and increase our urban tree canopy.

Council’s free ‘Tree Giveaway’ events will be at:

  • Dee Why beachfront - Saturday 7 September (10am-2pm)
  • Manly beachfront - Saturday 21 September (10am-2pm)
  • Rat Park ‘Beaches Market’, 1472 Pittwater Road, Warriewood - Friday 18 October (7am-1pm)

Northern Beaches Council Mayor Michael Regan stressed the importance of ongoing community engagement when it comes to encouraging people to plant more trees to preserve our tree canopy.

“By taking part in the ‘Tree Giveaway’ you will help the community better understand the importance of trees in our urban environment and you will be actively involved in enhancing and protecting our urban tree canopy.

“We are committed to protecting and maintaining urban trees to harness the benefits they provide for the local community now and for the generations to come,’’ Mayor Regan said.

The Tree Giveaway is available to local residents only.
