Council will soon seek community feedback on a draft plan of management and concept design for Lynne Czinner Park in Warriewood and the plan of management for Wyatt Bike Park in Belrose.

Council at its meeting yesterday evening agreed to put both on public exhibition following initial consultation.

Mayor Michael Regan said Lynne Czinner Park concept plan has been developed in consultation with the Warriewood Valley Residents Association and local families, including the late Lynne Czinner, with a view to providing a large open space that can be enjoyed by Warriewood families.

"The draft includes new picnic areas, a bridge across Fern Creek connecting to Rocket Ship Playground, a bike pump track and tree planting and landscaping.

"The Park is also a great example of developer contributions at work, funding open space for the local community to enjoy following land release.

“When complete, it will be a fitting tribute to the late Lynne Czinner, the former Mayor of Pittwater Council, and a strong and passionate environmental advocate.”

Council recently acquired parcels of land off Fern Creek Road and together with Rocket Ship Playground they form Lynne Czinner Park.

Mayor Regan said the Wyatt Bike Park concept was to create a junior bike park to complement the more advanced Bare Creek Bike Park nearby.

“Our aim is to provide an entry level track that complements the local natural environment.

“This, and the addition of a bike track at Lynne Czinner Park is part of our plan to increase opportunities for young riders of different skill levels across the LGA and reduce the creation and use of illegal bushland tracks which can cause irreparable environmental damage.

“Our initial consultation with the community was largely positive and we have used that feedback to develop a specific Plan of Management for the park.

“I encourage the community to look at the plans for both the parks, Warriewood and Belrose, and provide us with feedback.”

Council will hold public hearings for both parks during the public exhibition period as required under the Act.

The Lynne Czinner Park draft Plan of Management and Concept Design will go on public exhibition on Friday, 29 October and the draft Wyatt Bike Park Plan of Management will go on public exhibition early next week. Both can be viewed on Council's Your Say website
