Northern Beaches Council is a step closer to a fully unified single Council with the integration and upgrading of IT systems which, when complete, will deliver consistency and improvements in customer service.

The upgrade will occur from 5pm Tuesday 5 December to 5pm Thursday 14 December and customers may experience a delay in some services during this time.

Northern Beaches CEO Mark Ferguson said the migration of a number of IT systems into a single platform would solve a number of inefficiencies. Currently, staff work with different legacy systems adding time and complexity to operations such as processing development assessments or issuing certificates.

“This upgrade is a major milestone in our transformation as one Council and will streamline the services we provide for customers from Manly to Palm Beach.” Mr Ferguson said.

“Ultimately we’ll see a more efficient and consistent approach to a number of core Council services and an improved customer experience for our community.

“We thank residents in advance for their patience while we make these vital upgrades,” Mr Ferguson said.

Some of the services which will be affected include development applications, payment of rates, 149 Certificates and 603 Certificates, road opening permits and a number of other applications and permits.

Council’s BPAY number for the payment of rates may also change for some residents.
