Northern Beaches Council has awarded over $50,000 in grants and fee waivers in the second round of the 2019/20 Events Grants and Sponsorship Program.

Successful applicants included Dogs in the Park NSW for Dogs in the Park Northern Beaches, an event promoting responsible dog ownership, and One Eighty Avalon Inc for its concert event Ocean Alley – Live@ Rat Park.

Other successful applicants included Totem Arts Festival for its two-week art festival in Newport in November and The Link Church for Carols by the Lake at North Narrabeen in December, among several other recipients.

Mayor Michael Regan said the Events Grants and Sponsorship Program aims to promote the skills and resources of the community to deliver a rich and diverse calendar of events across the Northern Beaches.

“The focus is on new and innovative events and other activities that add value and benefits to our local villages and town centres across the Northern Beaches,” Mayor Regan said.

“We also continue to support long-standing events that continue to be very popular and valued by our local community.”

In July, Council awarded four groups more than $14,000 in events grants and sponsorship funding and fee waivers in the first round of community grant funding.
