Join your friends and neighbours for an evening of family friendly entertainment when Santa drops in to Dee Why for 'Christmas by the Beach'.

Mark Ferguson, Northern Beaches General Manager said Council is inviting the community to the Family Christmas Show on Friday 16 December, at a new location this year.

"Because of the increasing popularity of this event, the show's on at James Meehan Reserve this year from 4-9pm.

"It still provides all the atmosphere and enjoyment of being at the beach, only there's more room.

"The highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the arrival of Santa on his sleigh. The bells will be well and truly jingling all the way.

Other highlights will be the carols, free kids photos with Santa, the rides and other fun amusements, food stalls and of course a new addition this year, the Creative Made Artisan Markets.

There will be more than 20 stalls offering everything from ceramics, photography, jewellery and candles. It's a great chance to admire the work of local artisans and do some Christmas shopping.

The stage show runs from 5-8pm featuring DJ Kit Kat and the Kool Kat dancers from 5pm, the Jitterbugs Christmas Spectacular at 5.30 and the traditional Christmas carols performed by the Northern Beaches Chorus and the Northern Beaches Symphonic Wind Ensemble from 6.30pm.

"I encourage everyone to bring a picnic blanket and come on down and enjoy this free family friendly event," Mr Ferguson said.
