Council is partnering with not-for-profit foundation BeCollective to launch a new platform that will centralise volunteers on the Northern Beaches.

The new database will make it easier than ever for anyone to sign up, and simpler to deploy volunteers to areas of greatest community need.

Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said the partnership with BeCollective will allow Council to be more efficient with deploying resources where they are needed most and ensure volunteer details are current.

“At Northern Beaches Council, we believe that volunteering is an essential part of building a strong, resilient, and supportive community. By coming together to support one another, we can create a place where everyone feels welcome, valued and connected,” Mayor Heins said.

“We offer a range of opportunities for volunteers to make a difference in our community. Whether you want to volunteer with the environment, community services, arts and culture, or recreation, there are plenty of ways to get involved and help make a difference.

“We believe that everyone has something valuable to contribute and we welcome all individuals and groups to get involved and sign up to the program.

“If you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a more long-term commitment, we have a wide range of opportunities to suit your interests and availability.”
