The Northern Beaches art scene is coming alive for summer with a host of bright, exciting cultural events from Avalon to Manly to Terrey Hills and beyond.

"Northern Beaches Council strongly supports the arts and has exhibition spaces at Manly Art Gallery & Museum and The Creative Space in North Curl Curl," said David Kerr, Northern Beaches Council Acting General Manager.

"Special pop up exhibitions are also held in the community centres and even outdoor locations throughout the year."

"And of course, each year in September, the Manly Arts Festival presents scores of special events including exhibitions, concerts, talks, dance, films and creative workshops."

This summer’s line up showcases a huge range of genres from a variety of artists including:

  • Summer Art Space event in Avalon
  • Other Worlds exhibition in Curl Curl
  • Ku-ring-gai pH - Art + Science > Project including exhibitions at Manly Art Gallery & Museum, Eramboo Artist Environment in Terrey Hills and other locations.

"Council is delighted to also be hosting a myriad of workshops that show how our unique natural environment, science and art all link together.

Workshops include ‘In Conversation: Artists & Scientists (Manly Art Gallery & Museum), a masterclass with acoustic engineer Shane Fahey (Eramboo Artist Environment, Terrey Hills); and even open air workshops at combining art with science (McCarrs Creek Reserve and Manly Art Gallery & Museum).

"Along with our various exhibition spaces, Northern Beaches Council hosts a number of Artist in Residence programs to help further develop local artist skills." Mr Kerr said.
