Throughout the year, Council’s crews are hard at it, maintaining and improving the places that keep our neighbourhoods safe and our community connected.

- new hardcourts at Winnererremy Bay and a fitness equipment upgrade in Lakeside Park at Narrabeen
- replacement stairs at Fisher Bay and a new boardwalk at Castle Rock on the Manly to Spit Scenic Walk
- building works at our aquatic centres, air-conditioning at 2 community centres and surf club amenities upgrades

- significant road works including resurfacing, patching and remediation in over a dozen suburbs.
Various works have been funded by the Special Variation to Rates, beginning on 1 July. Visit the Your rates at work for a full list of completed and proposed works.
Our program of roadworks and footpaths renewal and replacement projects also continues across the Beaches, along with:
- road and drainage works on Scotland Island and upgrades to the Queenscliff and Stuart Sommerville bridges
- a replacement boardwalk and bridge at Long Reef, rockpool renewals at Mona Vale and stormwater remediation works at Freshwater Beach.
We’re also excited about welcoming the community to the opening of the brand-new Warriewood Community Centre in early 2026. The multi-use centre will support activities from meetings or performances to exercise and dance classes and more. The community centre will also have the capacity to switch to an emergency and recovery centre when needed. Stay tuned!
Capital works programs are planned and scheduled to deliver benefits and value to residents, community groups and visitors across the Beaches and improve amenity, safety and accessibility for all.
