Council wishes to hear from the community about its draft Seaforth Oval Reserve Plan of Management (PoM). The Plan aims to improve sport and recreation opportunities at the Reserve.
The Reserve has seen many a budding sport star throughout its long history with football, cricket, little athletics, school sport and other sports played here for numerous years, along with a myriad of community activities.
The area covers a sportsground fringed by bushland and facilities including the Seaforth Oval Community and Sporting Pavilion, lit sports fields, playground, natural and synthetic turf cricket wickets, cricket nets, ½ basketball court and a dog off-leash area as well as carparking and internal roads.
The PoM proposes a new bike park for intermediate and advanced riders to fill a gap for this type of facility in this part of the Northern Beaches.
The vision for this highly valued Reserve has proposed actions to meet current and future community needs as a place for sport, recreation and community activities.
To understand the community’s views and needs Council undertook a consultation process in 2023. Recommendations included improvements to the sports and park facilities, carparking and internal roads, improved bushland management and a new intermediate to advanced level bike park.
The proposed actions are subject to confirmation of funding and obtaining all required environmental, planning or other approvals. The proposed new bike park will be funded from developer contributions once the PoM is approved.
