The groundwork is starting for the new Warringah Recreation Centre with construction crews getting the eastern carpark ready, ahead of the major works to build a brand new squash court building and tennis courts.

The new squash court building has been specially designed to welcome everyone from beginners to seasoned players and when coupled with new tennis courts and easier parking this precinct is set to be a real hotspot for active living in the Northern Beaches community.

The redevelopment isn’t happening in isolation - it’s all part of a bigger plan. Alongside the construction of a new Warringah Golf Clubhouse and the new Gymnastics Centre, the vision is to boost sporting and recreation opportunities across the region, turning the area into a go-to destination for sports lovers.

Keeping everyone safe is a top priority as these upgrades roll out and Council is keeping a close eye on local roads now and when the new facilities open. There are also plans in place to ease traffic congestion and keep pedestrians safe, including looking into things like new crossings and more traffic calming measures.

Work on the new squash courts is scheduled to start in late 2025, with the tennis court improvements following in 2026. If you want updates or more information, you can always check out the Northern Beaches Council’s Your Say page.
