Did you know the Earth has a pulse?  Every 26 seconds the Earth has a beat detectable on seismometers. This fascinating phenomenon was observed in the 1960s.

This pulse is the inspiration for a mesmerising exhibition Twenty-Six Seconds at Eramboo Artist Environment from Wednesday 23 July to Sunday 27 July 2025, led by the 2025 Eramboo Artist Residency recipient, Susie Dureau.

Twenty-Six Seconds delves into the Earth's rhythms through an intriguing blend of sound, light, and pigment.

Contemporary artist Susie Dureau collaborated with artists and scientists Marisabel Gonzalez, Mackenzie Russell, Ringo Taylor-Cross, Harley Rimmer, and Reuben Brown to capture the essence of Eramboo and neighbouring Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park landscapes.

Their creative process included utilizing ultrasound recordings and sonographs, which served as the inspiration for the paintings featured in the exhibition.

The exhibition opening celebration, scheduled for Saturday, 26 July, features an artist talk and a panel Q&A with all the collaborators providing deeper insights into their efforts and inspirations behind the exhibition.

Additionally, ticketed workshops on experimental pigments and soundscapes will also be available.

Do not miss the opportunity to experience this unique exhibition that beautifully merges art and science, offering a profound connection to our natural surroundings.
