Amit - Recruitment Consultant
After migrating from India in early 2017, Amit is thrilled to call Australia home and is loving the team culture and customer-centric approach at Northern Beaches Council.
“I’m new to the Local Government industry and really like that we are people from different backgrounds coming together and working for a common goal which is for the local community, in everything do.
“I am a people person and from a young age though I would do public relations. I chose recruitment and am very happy with that.
When asked what motives him, Amit said it was all about ‘team’.
“I am very fortunate that responsibilities are given to me and I am trusted by my colleagues and seniors to complete my task without being micromanaged.
“The people here trust each other and respect their colleagues. We sometimes have social gathering outside of work time, when we can catch up with other colleagues and learn about each other. It is really a fun work culture.”
Amit gets to meet people from every corner of the organisation. What’s it like when he bumps into the people he has interviewed?
“It’s fun. Sometimes I learn something I didn’t know because there are so many diverse careers we are interviewing for. Our staff have all sorts of fascinating backgrounds and knowledge. We like to pick people with good work ethics, so while we are different technically but we have similar values.”
