During her junior career Jo represented Australia at the Junior World Championships and Australian Youth Olympic Festival winning 5 medals.

Her Olympic debut was at the London 2012 Olympics where she finished ninth in the Canoe Sprint Women’s Kayak Four (WK4) 500m. She represented Australia again at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, competing in the Canoe Sprint Women’s Kayak Double (WK2) 500m placing 13th and the Canoe Sprint Women’s Kayak Four (WK4) 500m where she placed seventh. 

Jo grew up kayaking on Narrabeen Lagoon and she also competed for Manly Life Saving Club.
