Brendon Foley represented Australia in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012 at the World Down Syndrome Swimming Championships. He holds world records in freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke with a total of 5 World Championships.

In 2019 Brendan was awarded life membership to Warringah Aquatic Centre recognising his achievements in swimming and for being a role model and an inspiration for all swimmers. As at January 2025 he is an ongoing member of the Warringah Masters Swimming Club.
