In the early 1870s, people in the Seaforth area (known as Middle Harbour up till 1906) saw the need to build a church for their community. 150 years later, that church still stands and has been added to considerably. A Creative Community Competition is being held in association with our Open Day to ask people in our community to reflect on what they think our community needs in 2025 and beyond.
There are 3 age categories - under 10 years, 11-17 years and 18+ years for this competition. You can write a poem, a story or create an artwork - the field is open. Just as the people of this area in the 1870s saw the need for a church, what do you think our community needs now? Submit your entries by 5pm Friday 17th October 2025 to office@seaforthanglican.org.au or drop them at the church, 3 Frenchs Forest Rd, Seaforth during office hours.
There'll be great voucher prizes plus the opportunity to discuss with community leaders how your ideas could become reality.
Winners will be announced by the Northern Beaches Council Mayor at our Open Day on Saturday 25th October at 12 noon on the church steps. Join us for our Open Day from 9am to 3pm on Saturday 25th October where you can enjoy coffee from our coffee van, Devonshire Teas, sausage sandwich, cake stall, clothing stall, craft stalls, Giant Slide in our hall for kids plus other kids' activities, playgroup for preschoolers, live music, historic displays and plenty more.
Join us for the Open Day and celebrate all the great things about this wonderful community of Seaforth and its surrounding suburbs.
