The Showground provides a large space for dogs to run and play, while small and shy dogs have the option to use a smaller,fully fenced area adjacent that has been set aside for their use.

Sporting enthusiasts, dog walkers and everyone in between will be delighted to see a modern 50 space carpark, an 800m shared path for walkers and cyclists and a new wooden fence enclosing the dog park that reflects the heritage of the site as an agricultural showground.

The showground includes bioswales to mitigate stormwater runoff, beautiful landscaping and 21 new Blackbutt trees were planted in 2020 as part of the restoration of a remnant section of Duffy’s Forest along Pringle Ave.

The area, commonly referred to as Lionel Watts, is a family friendly open recreation space includes something for everyone with sporting fields, an off-leash dog park, an inclusive playground, an upgraded amenity building, a skate park and a safe path for children to ride and scoot.
