Works on the Glen Street Open Space Masterplan and Dog Off-leash Area Enhancement Program has progressed very well. The new $4 million synthetic sportsfields at Lionel Watts 3 and 4 has been completed. The fields were designed to suit a variety of sport including AFL, soccer, touch football and cricket.

The earthworks at Frenchs Forest Showground has been completed. The field is irrigated with a mix of bore water supplemented with potable water as required. This will ensure the new turf remains lush and green and that the management of the field is sustainable into the future. The Showground provides a large space for dogs to run and play, while small and shy dogs have the option to use a smaller, fully fenced area adjacent that has been set aside for their use.

Works on the $2.5 million playground will be completed by early November 2019 and the skatepark is due to be completed by mid to late October.

Work to upgrade the showground with new fencing, landscaping, external circular path and upgrade of the eastern car park, in accordance with the Glen Street Masterplan, will commence at the end of 2019 and be completed by mid-2020
