A FreeWheeler is a wheelchair with soft balloon tyres that roll easily over sand and even into low waves.

It can be borrowed for use by a support person for a person aged 5 up with a disability for a great day at the beach with family and friends – and they’re free of charge.

You'll need to complete a Loan Application Form which sets out the terms and conditions.

Check FreeWheeler Availability

It's best to pre-book a Freewheeler to ensure you get to use it on the day you plan to go to the beach.

To locate an available FreeWheeler on the Northern Beaches, email Council's Beach Services Team or call 02 9942 2354.

You will receive confirmation of your booking and notification of the availability of a FreeWheeler.

Alternatively, contact the Beach Lifeguards or a surf club where FreeWheelers are available.
