Organised annually by the Australian Library and Information Association, Library Lovers’ Day is an opportunity to celebrate libraries and everything they do. As the 2021 theme is 'Make a date with your library', we are encouraging those in the community who may not have visited the library in a while, to reconnect with our services and us. 

Therefore, in celebration of Library Lovers' Day, here are five reasons why you should make a date with your library.

1. There’s no judgment

It is our hope that our spaces are equally welcoming to all and that access to information or services is inclusive. If you can’t find the book you’re after or you need a hand on the computer, our staff are always on hand to help.

2. We're not all about the books

Books aren’t exclusively the reason for visiting libraries any more. Modern libraries are all about providing a safe space for the community, whether you’re looking to work, study or quietly read.

3. We have a fun-loving, digital side

Our eLibrary is alive with possibilities for entertainment with movies, eBooks, online tutorials and educational games for kids. You can easily access all of these online resources on our website or by downloading the library app. 

4. The date won’t be expensive

Becoming a member of Northern Beaches Libraries is free as well as the access to our online resources.

5. To learn something new

At their core, libraries provide opportunities for learning. No matter who you are or what you want to know, libraries will always be a place you can go to for information.
