Join local author Dimity Mortensen as she discusses her newest biography, Archibald Mosman: The Field of the Faithful Man.

Monday 28 July, 2 - 3pm at Manly Library

Archibald Mosman is the first biography of the suburb of Mosman’s namesake and chronicles his life as a wealthy merchantman, whaler, grazier and vast landholder. This candid and sometimes confronting portrayal explores his association with slavery as a young sojourner on plantations in the British West Indies. It examines the forces that drove him during his contentious time as magistrate in Armidale through to his final days in virtual obscurity in Randwick at Byron Lodge.

Dimity will share a presentation of historical artifacts found during her research.
