A day at Dee Why Beach is fun even in winter thanks to the Michaela Howie Playground renewal that will see kids grinning from ear to ear.

The playground, which officially reopens on 8 July, has everything essential to put a smile on young childrens faces including two new swing sets (standard and toddler seat), two new play structures with a slide, platform, climbing frames and fireman's pole.

Michaela Howie playground has also taken the feedback from locals to incorporate a beachy feel into the design complete with a boat for young seafarers to embark on imaginary trip beyond the horizon, a fishing rod to capture their dinner and a friendly dolphin to sail across the ocean with them.

The adults haven’t been left out either with the inclusion of new bench seating and shade where they can keep an eye on the kids.

The playground is named in honour of Michaela Howie, a young girl who tragically lost her life in an accident and her memory lives on through this playground, which continues to bring joy to countless families in the Northern Beaches area.
