A reminder to walkers to check the detour map for the Manly to Spit Scenic Walkway as crucial repairs start at Fisher Bay next week.

The picturesque walk along Sydney’s harbourside is a popular activity for locals and visitors. And while Council has repaired many sections over the years, several staircases and boardwalks now need to be replaced.

Stage 1 of the works at Castle Rock are now complete and the track will be completely open for the long weekend.  Stage 2 of the works will start at Fisher Bay on Monday 16 June.

Council will be renewing 3 staircases and the associated deck at Fisher Bay. During construction, walkers will need to follow the 1200m signposted detour between Ellery’s Punt Reserve at the Spit Bridge and Sandy Bay near Clontarf.

We encourage all track users to plan ahead and visit Council’s website for detour maps and up to date information.

The renewal will ensure the area is safe for everyone and will reduce ongoing repair costs.

These works are part of Council's ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the safety and accessibility of local tracks and trails across the Northern Beaches.

The works are expected to be complete by August 2025, weather permitting.
