Notice is hereby given that Council proposes to close the council public road reserve adjoining 23 Maas Street, Cromer.

The purpose of the proposed road reserve closure is to enable the sale of the subject land to the adjoining owner.

Any person is entitled to make submissions concerning the proposal within 28 days of the date of this public notice. 

You can make a submission in one of the following ways:

Once the submission period is completed, Council will consider all duly made submissions before deciding whether to continue with the road reserve closure proposal.

This public notice is in accordance with Section 38B of the Roads Act 1993.

What is the purpose of this proposed road reserve closure?

 The purpose of the proposed road reserve closure is to enable the proposed sale of the subject land to the adjoining owner.

Where is the proposed road reserve closure?

The road reserve is situated on the Pukara Place side of 23 Maas Street, Cromer. Please refer to plan identifying the subject road reserve.

What are the proposed road reserve closure dimensions and area?

The road reserve has an area of 90.9 square metres. It is approximately 40 metres long and 3 metres wide. A splay corner is incorporated.

What is the section of the Roads Act 1993 that allows road reserves to be formally closed?

Section 38A of the Roads Act 1993.

What happens after the public notification closes?

  • Council staff will review all submissions from the public, as well as internal and external stakeholders. 
  • This proposal including a summary of all submissions received will be reported to a future Council meeting for consideration. 

What happens to the funds from any future sale of a former public reserve road owned by Council?

In accordance with The Roads Act 1993, money received by Council from the proceeds of sale of the land is not to be used by Council except for acquiring land for public roads or for carrying out road work on public roads.
