Northern Beaches Council is set to modernise its parking permit system, replacing physical stickers with a streamlined digital parking permit system.
The new system is being introduced over the next 12 months.
The move to the new system will provide for simpler and efficient management and is estimated to save ratepayers around $75,000 per year.
Council currently processes over 250,000 permits each year from 7 different permit schemes.
The introduction of digital parking permits will be staged, starting with the smaller North Permit Schemes (Western Foreshore, Church Point, Rowland Reserve, and Illuka Reserve) in November 2025.
There is no need for permit holders to act yet – we’ll keep you posted when it’s your time to apply.
The Beach Parking Permit Scheme will be digitised next year, and we’ll notify residents and other customers of how and when they can apply before their existing permits expire.
