Whether you’re a walker, runner or pedal pusher you’ll soon be able to cross Manly Lagoon between Aitken Avenue and Hinkler Park at Queenscliff on an amazing new bridge.

Council is constructing the bridge to provide pedestrians and cyclists with a safer and more accessible route that will improve connectivity in the local area and beyond to Brookvale and Manly

This new bridge not only moves pedestrians and cyclists away from busy Pittwater Road it also improves safety with its dedicated path.

The new shared use bridge will promote accessibility and provide an enhanced connection to local shops, schools, playgrounds, and other recreational facilities to support healthy and active travel options.

Design aspects of the new bridge were based on the community's feedback and made possible with thanks to grant funding from Transport for NSW and support of Member for Manly, James Griffin MP.

In addition to the Queenscliff pedestrian and cycle bridge, several other important infrastructure projects have been recently completed or are underway. These include the renewal of the Stuart Sommerville Bridge at Queenscliff, part of the Newport to The Serpentine section of the Coast Walk, and various footpath renewals across 23 suburbs.

The Queenscliff pedestrian bridge works commence November 2025 and are anticipated to be finished early 2026, subject to weather conditions. For more information and to stay updated on the project's progress, please visit the Northern Beaches Council Your Say page.
