Calling all wine lovers and foodies! The all new Taste of the Beaches is on its way. Northern Beaches Council is taking the ever-popular Taste of Manly event and transforming and expanding it into a month-long celebration in May of the best wining and dining experiences on the beaches.

From Manly to Palm Beach to Terrey Hills and everywhere in between, the Northern Beaches will be the place to eat, drink and enjoy.

The Taste of the Beaches program will include more than 30 events at venues across the Northern Beaches including three key venues: Manly Beach Restaurant, Manly Beer & Wine Garden, Palm Beach Wine Garden.

There will also be a series of other special events which feature unique food and wine experiences, which will be held in restaurants, cafes and businesses across the entire LGA.

Mayor Michael Regan said Taste of the Beaches will have something for everyone.

“The program will be unique and varied, and we are proud to support a very vibrant line-up of local restaurants, brewers and wine producers. You never know what fantastic restaurant or cafĂ© or local brewery you may discover, just around the corner from you.

“By organising events across the whole region, we are helping support local businesses, particularly hospitality, who have been hard hit over the past year.

“Council is also providing grants to local restaurants, cafes and businesses to participate in the event. Taste of the Beaches is as much about supporting local businesses as it is providing first class wining and dining experiences.

“So be sure to mark it in your diary, check out the program and join in the culinary fun.

“Back on the program this year (from Taste of Manly) will be the very popular Manly Beach Restaurant, a pop-up restaurant in partnership with Hotel Steyne on spectacular Manly Beach.

“In Palm Beach, we plan to stage the Palm Beach Wine Garden, a cellar door style event, featuring up to 12 wineries. It will be a limited ticket event and I’m sure it will be very popular, so be sure to get in quick.

“In the Manly Corso, we plan to host the The Manly Beer & Wine Garden, which will give the community and visitors the opportunity to relax and enjoy the surrounds whilst supporting local businesses Modus Operandi Brewing Co, 7th Day Brewery, Seadrift Distillery, Manly Spirits Co and Bucketty's Brewing Co. Food will include a traditional South African delicacy, Biltong by African Vibe at Brookvale, fresh meat skewers and tasty cheese platters."

The Manly Beach Restaurant on Manly Beach will be operating over the weekend from 1 to 2 May. The pop-up restaurant will highlight what makes wining and dining in Manly so great with its focus on fresh, delicious food in a location second to none.

The Manly Beer & Wine Garden will be open every weekend in May from Friday to Sunday, 11:30-21:00. This pop-up event will be a unique experience, with mini-golf on the Corso a highlight for kids, live relaxed acoustic and jazz music, as well as DJs playing relaxing tunes in the evening.

The Palm Beach Wine Garden will be open on the weekend 29-30 at Governor Philip Park. The event will consist of four sessions across the weekend with a maximum of 1000 people. The sessions will run Saturday and Sunday, 11am – 2pm and 3pm - 6pm. There will also be live music, which will be different for each session.
