Council has begun work on the boardwalk connecting South Curl Curl beach to Fisherman’s Walk. The improved path will provide better access for people of all ages and abilities.
The project will be undertaken in 2 stages, with the first stage including the construction of new ramps and path behind the Curl Curl swim club to connect the two car parks. The second stage will include the boardwalk connection of the swim club to Fisherman’s Walk.
Stage 1 is expected to be completed by mid-July, with stage 2 expected to be completed in August 2025.
Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said this project is a win for safety and accessibility.
“We are thrilled to see work starting on this important link in our coastal walkways.
“Once complete, it will offer a safe and more enjoyable experience for everyone wanting to appreciate our beautiful coastline, without having to dodge cars while walking through the upper carpark.
“We acknowledge the Member for Manly, James Griffin’s support for this pivotal project,” said Mayor Heins.
This coastal walkway and boardwalk area are a key feature of the area and part of Council’s broader commitment to providing accessible, safe and sustainable infrastructure that enhances enjoyment of our natural environment.
During construction, the area will be fenced off for public safety with alternate access for pedestrians, prams and wheelchairs. Access to the rockpool will be available at all times.
This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government.
