Anticipation is building ahead of the Northern Composure Unplugged final this Saturday night.

And in a coup for the talented young musicians, the Council Chambers in Dee Why will be transformed into a haven for local music for one night only.

Solo artist Kye Conna is one of the 12 finalists and has promised to put on a show.

“I can’t wait, it was such good fun competing in my heat recently at Manly Library, the venue choices for all the heats have been great.

“No doubt the vibe and crowd will be awesome for the final and I think Speaking of Which and Joker In the Pack will be hard to beat, they are both amazing to watch live,’’ Conna said.

Northern Beaches Council Mayor Michael Regan is also looking forward to the final in what is usually a political arena.

“Council has always been a big supporter of youth events, and that definitely applies to Northern Composure Unplugged.

“I wish all the finalists well and I’m looking forward to a great night of live music in what promises to be a great community event in the Council Chambers,’’ the Mayor said.

Other finalists include Strawberry Jim, Georgie Lyons, Resus, Lux Travis, Sean Mulligan, Rules of Yesterday, Tilli Kay, Jordyn Richards and Matthew McPherson.

Performers will be required to play two songs – one original and one cover. The winner of Northern Composure Unplugged will receive a professional recording, as well as air time on Radio Northern Beaches.

With a total prize pool of over $4000, the level of competition promises to be fierce.

The final is on Saturday, December 7 in the Dee Why Council Chambers, from 7pm-10pm.

Northern Beaches Unplugged, proudly sponsored by Mona Vale Music, Perfect Pitch and Radio Northern Beaches, is an alcohol and drug free event. Tickets are $10 at the door.
