Council is calling on our community, schools and businesses to volunteer for Clean Up Australia Day to help keep our neighbourhood pristine.  Now is the time to register for this year’s event, happening on Sunday 03 March 2024.

Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said she is proud of our community continually contributing to the care of the region.

“Every year our wonderful community, school children, businesses and our Council staff don their gloves to collect the rubbish thoughtlessly dumped across our waterways, bushland, parks, open spaces and beaches. It is always a monumental and appreciated effort.

“Last year, nearly 7,000 community volunteers banded together to clean-up 98 sites across the Northern Beaches.

“This year we are encouraging everyone to register for Clean Up Australia Day. It is a worthy cause with staggering results that can only benefit everyone,” Mayor Heins said.

Registrations are now open to register a site or volunteer at a registered Northern Beaches site near you.

Businesses are encouraged to join the Business Clean Up Day on Tuesday 27 February and young people can get involved in the School Clean Up Day on Friday 1 March 2024 or as a youth group on Sunday 3 March 2024.

Since Clean Up Australia was created in 1990, more than 21 million volunteers have helped clean up Australia.
