The Northern Beaches is set to shine this festive season with a vibrant line-up of free, family-friendly events to celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year.

Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said the events are a cherished tradition that bring the community together in celebration.

“Council loves bringing people together to enjoy the spirit of the Christmas season,” Mayor Heins said.

“These events are about supporting our community, all while having fun with family, friends and neighbours.”

The festivities kick off on Thursday 4 December with the Christmas Choral Concert at Manly Oval.

Families can bring a picnic, grab takeaway from one of Manly’s many restaurants, or purchase from food trucks onsite. Enjoy a magical night of carols under the stars including performances from the Northern Beaches Orchestra, the Community Christmas Choir and talented local artists.

There’s also free popcorn for the first 2,000 people at the Christmas Choral Concert, courtesy of Cunninghams Real Estate.

“Christmas would not be Christmas without carols, our Choral Concert is a highlight of the season” Mayor Heins added.

The fun continues on Friday 12 December with Christmas by the Beach at Dee Why, where families can enjoy a festive stage show, free Santa photos and face painting courtesy of Cunninghams Real Estate.

“Christmas by the Beach is set to be a wonderful event, featuring a Christmas stage show with Boskar the Polar Bear, a sing-along with Rock Paper Sisters and Dance Party hosted by Jayden Rodrigues for children of all ages,” Mayor Heins said.

“It’s a joyous family event that captures the spirit of the season in true Northern Beaches style.”

Immersing everyone in the festive spirit is Jingle Beats - live music creating a magical atmosphere for shoppers across our town centres until 12 December.

To cap off 2025 on the Northern Beaches, New Year’s Eve firework displays are on at 4 spectacular locations.

Council presents the 9pm New Year’s Eve family fireworks at Dee Why Beach and Frenchs Forest.

The Manly Cove fireworks are proudly presented by Manly Wharf with support from Council, while the Bayview fireworks are presented by Merivale with support from Council.

“Our fireworks continue to delight both residents and visitors while supporting local businesses and our economy,” Mayor Heins said.
