The Northern Beaches best and brightest young entrepreneurs will present their business ideas to Spark Tank’s panellists on Thursday 13 October at Glen Street Theatre.

Share the Spark is a local not-for-profit organisation which runs the innovative Spark Tank program focused on engaging teams of young people to present their ideas of tomorrow.

From biodegradable bubble gum, to sustainable swimwear, and apps that help other students learn from students, six great ideas will battle it out on the main stage to win a pool of prizes.

Mayor Michael Regan said he is proud Council is supporting this event and is looking forward to hearing the superb entries from tomorrow’s titans.

“The calibre of the business ideas born from this program is so impressive.

“I think Share the Spark does a great job of rewarding innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting these young people’s ideas and giving them the confidence to develop these into real businesses. They are a real asset in our community.

“Good luck to all the entrants and well done for all the hard work you’ve put in to date,” Mayor Regan said.

Spark Tank is similar to the TV show Shark Tank. In this event winners will present their ideas in front of a live audience to an expert panel to win financial backing and professional business assistance. In 2022, submissions were evaluated on merit, uniqueness, community involvement and innovation.

The group is divided into two categories; 8-16 year and 17-23 years, with esteemed panel members from the local business community including experts in arts, engineering and technology.

Winners are competing to receive funding and a six-week program of business coaching and mentoring that will allow them to progress their ideas.
