Completing the Census 2026
Wednesday, 5 August 2026

Next Tuesday 11th August is the 2026 Australian Census, and every Northern Beaches household is encouraged to take part and be counted.

This time around the process is different from previous years and to make it easier for you, paper Census forms will no longer be automatically mailed to households.  Instead, you should receive a letter asking you to complete the Census online.

If this doesn’t suit you, you can ask for a paper form to be sent to you.

Or you can visit the ABS Census Hub at Dee Why Library on Tuesday 11 August between 11am and 5pm for information, paper forms and help filling it out.

Held every 5 years by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the Census provides a snapshot of Australia's population and housing.

Every answer collected helps governments, councils and community organisations plan services now and for the future - things like where to build schools or hospitals, how to plan public transport and what support services our community needs.
