Big changes are on the way for Church Point, with Northern Beaches Council launching the long-awaited transformation of Thomas Stephens Reserve.

The first stage of work kicked off in September and marks the beginning of a major upgrade for this popular spot with locals and visitors alike.

The project, part of the Church Point Precinct Masterplan, is all about making the area around the Church Point shops more attractive, pedestrian-friendly and accessible for all.

The Council is keen to keep the community’s favourite cafes and ferry services running smoothly throughout the construction, so residents and visitors won’t miss out on their daily routines.

Everything will happen in 3 carefully planned stages, starting with marine works. The aim is to keep disruptions to a minimum and ensure Church Point remains a welcoming, safe hangout for everyone right through the transformation.

The improvements stages will be:

Stage 1 – Marine Works

  • Includes a new boardwalk outside the Pasadena Sydney and a new accessible gangway to the ferry pontoon.
  • Repairs and additions to the sandstone seawall along Thomas Stephens Reserve.
  • Thomas Stephens Reserve will be temporarily closed during these works.
