It’s play time at our early learning centres this week and all the kids are having a blast!

As part of Early Learning Matters Week, we’re raising awareness of the importance of high-quality, play-based early learning. This year’s theme is ‘learning through play’.

Children’s brains develop faster in the first five years of their life that at any other time. 90% of brain development occurs during these early years, with lasting impacts on a child’s ability to learn and succeed throughout life.

Learning through play is the best way to encourage healthy development.

Our educators understand just how crucial these first five years are and are passionate about creating rich learning and play opportunities for all children in their care.

This week, children and educators at Manly Community Pre-school held a special morning tea, with guest appearances from the Mayor and councillors.

Organised by Early Childhood Australia, Early Learning Matters Week runs from 17 – 21 October 2022.

Northern Beaches Council offers a range of children's services, including pre-school programs, family day care, long day care and occasional care. Our educators provide safe, stimulating and interactive learning environments for all children. Find out more about our children’s services.
