Designed with everyone in mind, the generous 4-metre-wide bridge resolves a choke point along the busy shared-user path between Warringah Mall and Manly, linking Aitken Avenue and Hinkler Park.

With peaceful lagoon views along the way, the bridge provides a far safer and far more scenic alternative to the narrow footpath on the busy Pittwater Road.

Built to stand the test of time, the bridge deck sits 3 metres above the waterway, meaning it will stay safely accessible even during major flood events that typically occur only once every 100 years.

The bridge has already won a very special fan - local 6 year old Fletcher, who has been so fascinated by the construction that he couldn’t wait to be the very first to walk across — proudly alongside the Mayor.

“I’m very, very, very excited about the bridge opening. It will make it easy to get to nippers.

“When I grow up I want to be a builder,” Fletcher said.

And honestly, if there were a frequent crosser rewards program, we’re pretty sure Fletcher would already be topping the leaderboard!
