Naomi was a member of several local Northern Beaches surf life saving clubs (SLSC), but it was at Manly that she began to excel in the sport for almost a decade. Between 2006 and 2014 she won 16 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals at International Lifesaving Federation events. During that period, she also claimed the World Ironwoman title in 2008.

Naomi went on to represent Australia at the London 2012 Olympics Canoe Sprint Women’s Kayak Double (WK2) 500m placing 12th. At the Rio 2016 Olympics she placed 20th in the Canoe Sprint Women’s K1 500m.

After the London 2012 Olympics, Naomi continued to represent Australia at international canoe sprint events earning the following podium finishes:

  • Silver at the 2014 Women's K1 Senior 1000 Canoe Sprint World Cup Race II in Racice, Czech Republic
  • Gold at the 2013 Women’s K2 Senior 1000 Canoe Sprint World Cup Race II in Duisburg, Germany
  • Silver at the 2013 Women’s K1 Senior 5000 Canoe Sprint World Cup Race II in Racice, Czech Republic

In 2013 she was inducted into the Surf Life Saving Australia Hall of Fame for her contribution to the sport, and in 2020 she was the first woman inducted into the NSW Hall of Champions for Surf Life Saving and Kayaking.
