Interested in learning more about nature journalling?

In recognition of World Environment Day, join us at Manly Library for a Nature Journalling Workshop with Wendy Orchard. A creative and mindful way to engage with our local environment.

Sunday 8 June, 12 - 3pm at Manly Library.

Nature Journalling is the practice of recording personal observations of the natural world using a combination of pictures, words and numbers. This form of journalling fosters a deeper connection to nature, helping us to slow down, notice more and appreciate our environment.

No prior experience in art or science is necessary as Wendy will introduce you to the fundamentals of nature journalling with the focus on “drawing to learn rather than learning to draw.”

In this hands-on workshop you’ll use materials such as graphite and coloured pencils, pens, and watercolours to begin your own nature journal. Through techniques like contour drawing, tracing and direct observation you’ll be guided to create the first pages of what could become a lifelong practice.
