Join Miles Franklin award-winning author of Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens, Shankari Chandran, as she discusses her newest fiction, Safe Haven.

Safe Haven follows Fina, an asylum seeker in Australia who speaks out against mistreatment of refugees in a detention centre and is threatened with arrest and deportation. When Lucky, a special investigator, arrives at the detention centre after a suspicious death begins uncovering a mystery linked to Fina's fate.

Safe Haven is about displacement and seeking refuge but ultimately it is a story about finding home and the lengths you’ll go to find safety and love.
