Northern Beaches Council is calling on all skateboarders and budding young artists to try their hand at decorating a skateboard deck, and showcase their final work as part of the ArtDecko exhibition during Youth Week.

ArtDecko workshops will be held with experienced artists covering various art forms at YOYO’s Youth Centre on Friday 31 March and Saturday 1 April from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

Northern Beaches Council Deputy General Manager Andrew Pigott said the workshops will provide a great opportunity for creativity and self-expression.

“Decorating skateboards with original designs and artwork has become very popular and are a great way for young people to express themselves creatively,” he said.

This is the third year ArtDecko has been held on the Northern Beaches with previous years workshops sold out well ahead of time.

“I encourage all young people to use this opportunity to learn something new and show off their talents,” Mr Pigott said.

ArtDecko workshops cost $30 and includes the deck, inclusion in the exhibition and an invitation to the opening night. Spaces are limited and bookings can be made by searching ArtDecko at norhernbeaches.nsw.gov.au. For more information phone 9970 1634.
