Hakea teretifolia

This shrub grows up to 3m depending on conditions.

It prefers sandy, moist well-drained soils and grows best in sun to light shade.

As the leaves are prickly it is best grown where the spiky points will not be brushed against.

It produces dagger shaped fruits and delicate white flowers from Spring to Summer.

The flowers provide food for birds, bees and insects, with the spiky foliage providing habitat for small birds.
