Nic Newling is an outspoken advocate for mental health, suicide prevention, and sharing personal stories. Having lived through the experience of suffering with a mood disorder throughout high school and losing his brother to suicide, he has since dedicated himself to changing the way mental illness is addressed in schools, workplaces, and communities.
Nic lived his teenage years in Avalon and went to Bilgola Plateau Public School. He will share his personal experience of family, life and school in an environment where he felt he had to spend each day hiding.
Nic details the road to healing and thriving that he and his family eventually moved along and what we can all learn in order to help ourselves and the people around us.
