Children exploring rock pools
Monday, 3 July 2023 - 10:00 am to 03:00 pm

Become a Mini Marine Explorer at the Coastal Environment Centre. We have an amazing range of live animals, specimens and taxidermies for you to discover, even a blue-ringed octopus! Learn how animals hunt, how they hide and, most importantly, how they survive. We will go on an expedition to the rock pools and the beach and identify the biodiversity that exists there. A truly magical place.

This event is for children aged 6-12 years.

Kids on the Coast is a Northern Beaches Council school holiday program. Check out the full program.

It is run at the Coastal Environment Centre and delivered by qualified education staff.

We're going on an octopus hunt and we want you to come too. Hands down our favourite marine creatures for their intelligence and personalities. This day we will share with you all we know about Octopuses and other cephalopods. We will head out on to the rock platform with a go pro and see if we can find one who wants to play or take a selfie.
