Kick start your musical journey with local musicians from Evergreen Music for a free two-session online adult beginners keyboard course as part of our Create at Home – Music program.
Well before the days of iTunes, YouTube, and Spotify, standing around the old upright piano was the source of entertainment at any good dinner party… bring back those days we say! One of the most versatile and loved instruments in the world, it's also one of the best to learn to play. If you don't consider yourself musically inclined... that's ok! You can physically produce sound and music on the piano much easier than many other instruments, and the visual layout of the keyboard makes it easy to connect music reading and music playing.
Participants will learn
- Technical skills: How to play the piano, including hand / wrist position, posture, correct use of fingers
- Musical Theory: At least one scale, introduction to chords and their shapes, major and minor tonality
- Repertoire: At least two pieces of (contemporary) music
