Northern Beaches Council values the contribution of volunteers. Many services would not operate so successfully without the commitment of people dedicating their time, energy and knowledge.
Council has a range of volunteer opportunities to assist at events, with environmental projects or getting involved in art exhibitions.
As well as making a difference to the lives of others, volunteering allows people to develop skills, create new social networks, meet like-minded people and be actively engaged in the community. Volunteering empowers individuals, enhances organisations and strengthens communities.
What Volunteers Do
Volunteers dedicate their time in an unpaid capacity to an organisation within an allocated voluntary role. It is not a substitute for paid work within an organisation but aimed to enhance the services offered by not-for-profit or governmental organisations.
All volunteers are required to complete a registration form. Complete this online enquiry form to get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator.
All volunteers will receive briefing information prior to volunteering with Northern Beaches Council. You will also receive an induction and ongoing support.
There is a range of large and small events across Council every year that value volunteer involvement. Most of these opportunities are short term where volunteers can gain valuable experience as part of a team working on a major event.
Events include Guringai Festival, Northern Beaches Art Prize, Taste of Manly, Taste of the Beaches, Manly Jazz Festival, Brookvale Show and many more. Watch this space for details regarding volunteer roles in relation to these events over the coming months. In the meantime, contact the Community Volunteer Coordinator on 9976 1556 or complete the online enquiry form for an expression of interest.
